It's all about sex ...
Supersexxxy powers up to take the lead

A power surge has overtaken Supersexxxy and pushed the team into the top spot. What's been the key to the Sexxxy one's rise on offense? The resurgence of Ken Griffey Jr. and the addition of Albert Pujols. After hitting only three homers and driving in 11 runs in April, Griffey has bounced back with a vengance in May with nine dingers and 24 RBI. All Pujols has done for Supersexxxy since being acquired from the Bronxbombers in late May is bat .458 with four homers and eight RBI. Even the losses of Sammy Sosa and Marcus Giles have been minimized thanks to the continued hot hitting of Sean Casey and the free agent pick up of Rob Mackowiak.
But don't give the title to the Sexxxy one yet. The Bronxbimbers are making things interesting while Team Blue and Power and Glory are within striking distance.
The Brooklyn Bunters and the Rozie's Boys are staying afloat thanks to their pitching but need a little more punch on the offensive side.
The Dalai Lamarama and the 215th Peeps still have time left to make a run but their window of opportunity is closing fast.

ONE BIG DEAL

There has been a ton of offers but not a lot movement. However, the one trade that was made was a biggie. The Bronxbombers seeking to shore up their pitching traded Albert Pujols to Supersexxxy for pitchers Armando Benitez and Josh Beckett. On paper, the trade seems to favor Supersexxxy as Pujols has gone on a tear while Beckett has struggled and eventually went on the DL. However, Pujols has been hamstrung recently while Benitez continues to be the best stopper baseball. So far it looks like a push as both teams have benefitted from the trade and it's reflected in the standings.

Making choices
Part Deux

There was some discussion that when pitching limits were lifted you could easily pick up pitchers and simply pad certain stats. However, the con was that other stats could be adversely affected. The Power and Glory put this theory to the test and here are the results. In picking up eight games in the GS category, 151 outs, the team earned no wins and five losses, 26 earned runs, 8 homers, 17 walks, 30 strikeouts, 2 GIDPs, 4.53 ERA and 1.42 WHIP. So while P&G gained in GS, outs and strikeouts, it wasn't helped in ERA, WHIP, homers, wins or losses.
